Technology in Las Vegas
I'm not sure I'm ready for a fully automated dealer but you never know - it could be fun and perhaps I could even win?
It’s hard to think of technology in Las Vegas beyond updating the neon lights and the surveillance cameras surveying every pit, but the truth is a lot of time and money goes into developing new products for use in casinos. Take the Table Master by Shuffle Master, at your left, for instance. It’s a fully-automated casino: no cards, no dealer, runs 24/7 and can’t be cheated. Doesn’t sound like very much fun to us, as we’re big fans of human interaction, but it might be just the perfect thing for some casinos, or maybe even places like airport lounges.

Stainless Steel Playing Cards
We think this could be a bit dangerous to have around your poker game if people start throwing cards. That being said - I like the thought of etched stainless steel playing cards. Heck - this could set off a revolution in playing cards, a new industry of dealers wearing gloves just to shuffle and deal the cards, and then there's the yet to be invented stainless steel card shuffler. Wild!
You know, there are some items that you can expect will just be relegated to the famous and the uber-collectors as far as ownership is concerned. Case in point, these stainless steel playing cards. The card designs are etched into the metal, and arrive at your door in sheets of metal rather than in a deck of cards. The sheets can be displayed on a wall, which would be great for a poker room, or you can press the cards out of the metal sheet which will leave you with a $313.95 USD deck of standard-sized playing cards.

The Big Poker Gamble
Agreed. It's a big gamble but a fun gamble to make.
The business of online poker is booming, giving players the chance to win a fortune from the comfort of their own front room. More than $1m (£575,000) are staked every minute by enthusiasts like Jane Foster, or Ms Fortune, as she's known online. "It's grown and grown, and it's done very well for me," says Ms Foster, a single mother of three from Manchester who is studying for a degree in IT. "That $30 that I put in two-and-a-half years ago has grown into thousands over the last couple of years."

The Texas Hold 'em of Backgammon - Nannon
I had the pleasure of playing this little wonder yesterday at lunch with it's creator Jordan Pollack. It's fun. It's quick. And it has gambling and fun written all over it. Tired of Texas Hold'em or want to increase your mental math skills at the odds? Then nannon is for you.
This new game feels like Backgammon but plays as quickly as a hand of Hold-em Poker. The rules are simple enough to teach in a minute, but developing skill, especially with the Doubling cube, takes practice. NANNON comes in an Altoids-sized tin that fits in your pocket or purse, and is a high-quality full-size game with heavy checkers, quality dice and a hand-made folding board. Nannon can be played in cafes, airplanes, restaurants, even in pubs with loud background music. It admits all the customs of Backgammon, including tournaments and doubling.

More Poker Players Coming To Wireless
It's about time. I would play a ton of poker on my phone if I knew I was actually going to win something instead of just practice.
With the advent of cellular phones and their advancing technology, what has been lacking is the content that many would like to have with their mobile phone. Games are always nice, but what some want are specific ringtones or other special content that will individualize the experience. While there has been some poker players that are bringing themselves to the cell phone arena, more are now joining in.

The Spoof - Poker thieves nab 273 quadrillion chips
Pure comic genius.
PokerBlokes.net, a popular online poker site, was robbed of 273 quadrillion chips in a daring heist over the weekend. Investigators are describing it as the largest theft of play money in history.According to a police report, two men showed up at PokerBlokes headquarters on Saturday morning, posing as florists. One man distracted an employee while the other man set a large potted plant in the lobby. The pot was large enough to hide a wireless router attached to a car battery. The men spent the rest of Saturday and all day Sunday downloading chips. The theft was discovered on Monday morning when players couldn't access the play money in their accounts.
