Vegas casino bets on RFID
Well there goes collecting chips and not being located via satellite many years later as they collect them back. :-)
"Casino mogul Steve Wynn has pulled out all the stops for his new $2.7 billion mega-resort in Las Vegas: an 18-hole championship golf course, a private lake and mountain, and a bronze tower housing 2,700 plush guest rooms.
But when its doors open in April, the Wynn Las Vegas will have one unique feature that few visitors are likely to notice--high-tech betting chips designed to deter counterfeiting, card-counting and other bad behavior."

My Current Poker Chip Stack

I have been researching poker chips since May 2004, when I visited on my friend
Russell's bachelor party the World Series of Poker at
Binions. After that visit - we all caught the poker bug and then poker seemed to take off. I also then became obsessed with finding real chips. Chips that were not aluminum - etc.

My pursuits took me all over the web, and at the time - most sites only sold the aluminum blank chips. However -
Nevada Jacks had real clay chips and a great sampler set. I bought them and several other single chips from all over the web.
In the past year - I've used this stack of clay chips to learn various stupid poker chip tricks. Yes - I say stupid - because I never do them at the table when I play at
Foxwoods - I feel like too much of a tool. But I do use them at work and perform various simple tricks to while away the day.
Does anyone else have a stack at work to mess with? Sound off!

It's Poker Chip Shot Glass Friday!!!

Well - if you like poker chips - we bet you like gadgets. If not - how about
shot glasses? Don't we all need a shot or two after a bad beat?
"The diminutive glass with techno-appeal. Use it to carry liquids from one place to the next. For example, go to your freezer and take out a nice chilled bottle of Cucumber Soju. Proceed to pour into your geek shot glass. Using a crane like vertical lift motion, grab the glass and dispatch the liquid from the shot glass and into your upper orifice. Make sure not to waste any precious fluids - it's important that you employ control and finesse padawans. Repeat as necessary until you find yourself incapable of fragging yourself out of a paper bag. Then go to the kitchen and find some flat foods to throw into the toaster and veg in front of the nearest TV sporting Dr. Who reruns..."
