Star Wars Poker Chips: They Light Up With the Force

star_wars_lighted_poker_chips.jpgTwo of my biggest geek centers are Star Wars and poker stuff - here we have found the junction. It comes with 50 Red Darth Vader, 50 Green Yoda, 50 Blue Luke Skywalker, 50 Blue Obi-Wan Kenobi chips, decks of casino quality poker cards in foil boxes, a death Star dealer button in .25" chromed metal, and 72 LED lights powered by 4 AA batteries. OK, so maybe they don't light up with the force, but they sure as hell light up!

Dead Rising 2: High Stakes Edition With Poker Set

dead_rising_2_high_stakes.jpgDead Rising 2 came out last fall, and somehow as a gamer I missed the fact they put out an edition that included poker chips. On top of that, it also includes a map of Fortune City, bonus "psycho" skills DLC, and a chance to win Burt, a 6-foot tall zombie replica.

I'm guessing the Burt train has sailed, and you may not be able to slay anyone at the table with your poker set, but at least you can still murder some undead in Dead Rising 2.

Red Poker Chip Cufflinks

red_poker_chip_cufflinks.jpgWhat's the over/under on the reaction when you walk up to the poker table wearing these gaudy-ass poker chip cufflinks? I'm thinking it'll either be A) people underestimate you or B) you intimidate the hell out of them because they figure you must be good if you have the stones to wear something like that. Either way, you win.

$1.5 Million Dollar Poker Chip Theft

chip_theft_millions.pngWe're a little late on the draw with this story, but it seems a man robbed the Bellagio casino in Las Vegas for over $1.5 million in chips back in mid-December. He might not have been able to buy as many presents with his haul as he thought, however - most of the chips were of such a high denomination that cashing them would be a huge problem.

"They have to have a plan B and that is to redeem the chips," said Jeff Voyles. "Not always the easiest thing to do, because the chips are mostly the high denomination are marked and tracked and trackable. So, to be able to redeem that is the toughest part, I think even more difficult that the robbery itself."
via NECN

While wearing a motorcycle helmet and robbing a casino does sound exciting, if I want a passel of unredeemable poker chips, I'll get them the old fashioned way.
