No Limit Hold 'em: Theory and Practice

David Slansky knows his stuff and this book is another masterful read on No-Limit Hold 'em. We like the depth of each of the sections along with the example. Great book.

No limit holdem had all but disappeared(except for tournament play) until about three or four years ago and any one playing today understands the explosion in poker is primarily centered around no limit holdem. Many veteran players like myself have tried to adopt and adapt a solid limit approach to no limit and achieved mixed results. Often the mixed results have left us wondering if were are getting better or just experiencing a good run. This book will help you think about and understand the game better than most of the previously published no limit material.

Inside The Poker Mind

Poker is a game of many skills and to become an expert poker player you need to master them all. This includes concepts such as hand selection, position, proper image projection, and reading hands. However, there are many players who have mastered most of these skills yet they still do poorly in the games — at best they are only small winners. And when they step up in limit and challenge the better players, they almost always fail. You see, knowing the concept is one thing, putting it all together is another.

Secrets the Pros Won't Tell You About Winning Hold'em Poker

We've recently made the trip to Foxwoods again but didn't get much table time due to being sucked into Crazy 4 Poker and winning big. So - by the time it was 5:30 in the morning we didn't venture out into the new WPT poker room. Next time we go, we'll have read this new book though. Looks like a perfect book on tells and after 5-6 hours of playing we always feel a little "tell all".

Have you seen all of the poker books at any large bookstore? Five years ago there were three. Now there are nearly 80. Can any new book really add anything to the voluminous poker literature that fills the shelves? The answer is an enthusiastic YES! Secrets The Pros Won't Tell You About Winning Holdem Poker is a welcome addition to the short list of truly excellent poker books available. Novices, intermediate, and advanced players will surely profit from the many nuggets of insight presented by Krieger and Bykofsky.

Online poker strategies - Game selection & Bankroll

OnlinepokerWe like the advice and think this is a fairly decent article on how to get started online and offline.

The difference between starting your poker career off as a winner or as a loser is Game Selection. Choose the appropriate game for your bankroll and your skill level and you will be rewarded with a long and winning career in poker.

Make sure you have an adequate bankroll for the stakes of the game. Normal game fluctuations dictate that playing in a $3/$6 game with a $50 total bankroll will normally see you leaving the table broke and looking to deposit more money. A good rule of thumb is to have a bankroll of about 20 times the big bet to consistently play at a particular limit (e.g. $20 to play at $.50/$1).

Zwerner Captures the 2006 WSOP $1,500 Omaha Bracelet

44Abdb67Ec050Really excited to see some Omaha news...

Happy belated Independence Day, my fellow Americans! This mid-summer holiday was best celebrated with friends and family at barbecues and ballgames, followed by fireworks.

Unless you're a poker player, that is. One of the premier WSOP events would start on our nation's 230th birthday, and it featured fireworks of a different kind.
