Know When to Walk Away - Know When to Run
Great advice on knowing when to call it quits for the night.
"Knowing when to walk away from the poker table can be tough to manage. Many poker players stay at the table way too long. It's better to leave too soon than too late. Small profits are better than big losses. Building your bankroll is a slow and boring process."

TJ Cloutier Enters Game Market With "World Class Poker"
It's good to see not only the younger players making some games but some of the classics like TJ Cloutier.
"Of all the things that the current resurgence in poker has brought, one of the things that has had problems catching up is in the world of computer poker. Games that have been released in the past have had pitiful artificial intelligence, leading the computerized players to get involved with pots with unbelievable hands. Players who were looking for a tool that they could use to improve their games were bereft of a solid program that would help to raise their poker abilities. With the release of "World Class Poker with T. J. Cloutier," there is a program that will be of interest to hardcore poker players."

World Poker Tour: Season 1 on DVD
We remember the good old days of poker being - well - not as popular. We can also say, the World Poker Tour helped us get hooked on poker right after we were in Vegas for our first visit to the World Series of Poker in 2001. If you haven't seen the first season and can't wait to see it on TV in reruns - get this.
"In WPT Season I, we have the broadcast that we now love in its embryo stage. It arrived just before the full-fledged poker boom, and the tournaments shown are smaller, and their prizes smaller, than the ones we now know. Just as one would expect, Mike Sexton is present with all his syrupy enthusiasm and Vince Van Patton plays his model sidekick throughout. Interestingly, Shana Hiatt has a more wholesome, brunette appearance."

Poker On TV
We watch Poker on TV. Who doesn't? We also know it gets us into bad habits by seeing really bad cards turn into really good results and $$$.
"...Caro talks about how people shouldn’t be learning the game of poker through television. It creates bad habits in the long run and severely cuts down on your ability to be a successful and winning poker player. New players are way too impressionable watching pros play crappy hands out of position and getting lucky. Television creates an illusion that loose reckless play is always rewarding. Check out Caro’s article for more information"

Winning Low-Limit Hold'em from Lee Jones
Winning Low-Limit Hold'em from Lee Jones is the first book we read on Limit-Hold'em. It's a little tough if you're just starting out, but we have been playing for many years now, and recently re-read this gem. And it's a gem. You really need to read this book if you're playing LIMIT at all. It's simply the best to get you both some basic strategy and also some math behind the game.
"Since its first publication in 1994, Winning Low-Limit Hold'em, by Lee Jones, has become the major reference on playing Texas Hold'em at the lower limits. However, poker has changed over the several years and Lee has continued to study the game. The result is this revised and expanded second edition. If you play low-limit Hold’em, or would like to learn to play Hold’em, this book is for you. It won’t teach you a lot of advanced poker theory, but it will give you a solid foundation with which you can be a winner at low-limit Hold’em."

Poker & Condoms
What can we say? They are in fact the same size and shape and can be used for similar purposes. One to engage in a nice evening of fun with your partner, the other one to screw over your opponents. I'm just not surprised about poker condoms but I can say - nice work. Check out the article at CardPlayer for all the details on this very interesting poker game featured for Kimono brand condoms.

World Championship Poker for Nintendo DS
We currently have this for our Nintendo DS and there is also a Gameboy Advance version. It's okay. Nothing special. The casino/career mode is kinda fun, but you always have to say you'll do another hand. I just want to sit, playk, and not be bothered. I'm looking forward to the PSP game we covered earlier in the week.
