If you're interested in poker generally and Texas Hold'em particularly this site is for you. Whether you're a novice poker player or seasoned pro you'll find information you need to improve your game and increase your chances of winning at poker. Included are the basics of game play, hand ranking, play of hands, poker rules, odds and terminology. We will be adding info as we go along on tournament play and other topics, in an effort to construct a comprehensive site aimed at improving your game.

If you've found your way here you probably have some idea who I am. My name is Roy Cooke, and I've been a part of the poker world for over thirty years. I have played nearly 60,000 hours of poker, including 16 years professionally, much of it in Las Vegas, with very few losing months in that time. I'm best known for my role as senior columnist at Card Player Magazine, where I have dispensed advice and commentary about poker in my REAL POKER column for the past fourteen years. Two collections of my columns have been published (the first is out of print) and I have three more poker books in the works.
